Galena will host the Fifth Annual Market House Square Art Festival, a juried outdoor show exhibiting some of the area’s best art and fine crafts. The event, sponsored by the Galena Cultural Arts Alliance and Hello Galena! Artist Co-operative, will be held Saturday, August 14 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, August 15 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on the lawn between the Market House Welcome Center and Hello Galena! at 121 N. Commerce St. in Downtown Galena.
The Fifth Annual Market House Square Art Festival has something for everybody. With more booths, artists, and variety than ever before, visitors can choose between hand-blown and fused glass, original watercolor and oil paintings, photography from the local area and around the world, digital art, modern and vintage handmade jewelry, custom made moccasins, embellished denim jackets, lawn and garden decor, children’s items, home décor and furniture, and many more items. All of the items for sale are handmade, and the artists themselves will be present to exhibit their work. Many of the artists will be displaying their talent throughout the weekend. Patrons can also enjoy live music by regional musicians.
